Withering Crone

The plant known as Withering Croon gains its name from its bulbous root that looks much like an old crone in a cradled, or fetal position. The top of the plant isn't much more than grass-like strands of brownish black that sprout out of the root in haphazard directions. Despite its ominous name, the Withering Crone is quite commonly used in soups and stews across Zoda where it is most often found, where it is either boiled in the broth, or is dried then either diced up or ground into a fine powder that can be sprinkled onto the soup or stew. Withering Crone can also be sprinkled directly onto meat or fish, in the latter-mentioned form.
